Funding & Volunteering
Two years. About $140,000. One full-time person. Since July 2024, leading AI experts have funded us, and 1,700+ hours of pro-bono work have stretched every dollar. We run on $7,500 a month, all in. Next, a $30,000 bridge by the end of October carries us through January. Then ~$800,000 funds the 18 months of our Roadmap.
Who Has Funded Us
Mostly AI-safety scientists, some widely renowned: people who know the risk from the inside.
June 2026 · $45,000 from David Krueger, founder of Evitable, and Tsvi Benson-Tilsen, via a Speculation Grant from the Survival and Flourishing Fund (SFF).
April 2026 · $20,000 from Ian McInnis, Princeton graduate and cofounder of a financial-AI startup in Y Combinator's 2026 program.
October 2025 · $10,000 from Ryan Kidd, who leads a $30M-a-year AI-safety training institution in Berkeley.
September 2025 · $2,000 from Troy Davis, international democracy activist.
February 2025 · $60,000 from AI-safety pioneer Steve Omohundro and two other SFF funders. SFF, backed by Skype and Future of Life Institute cofounder Jaan Tallinn, is the second-largest AI-safety funder.
Every month · €560 in recurring gifts from two donors, including cryptographer Jens Groth. They kept us going at critical moments.
What this Bought
The launch. Our Open Call of December 18, 2024, with a 90-page Case for a Coalition for a Baruch Plan for AI by 22 contributors.
The text. A 356-page Strategic Memo, updated through v2.9 and built on 950+ articles, videos and papers.
The channels. 30+ hours with senior staff and advisors of four power brokers: Dario Amodei, Pope Leo XIV, Marco Rubio and Michael Kratsios.
The network. 95+ people close to US AI power brokers engaged, 34 advisors and contributors, and NGO partners grew from six to ten.
